LaserVault Backup is a Disk-to-disk (D2D) backup system for IBM midrange computers (AS/400, iSeries, i5) with features similar to a virtual tape library, that runs on Windows XP, 2000, or 2003 server, and provides backup and restore functions to the iSeries host. Does LaserVault Backup include Hardware? No, it consists of software for the iSeries and software for the PC. You can use whatever hardware you prefer. Most users will connect with an Ethernet card to the host, which will already have an ethernet connection. Can I try it before I buy it? Do I need to use BRMS (Backup Recovery & Media Services)? No, LaserVault Backup uses simple SAVLIBLV and RSTLIBLV commands, making it similar to your current backup. Is it reliable?
